Every hand can make a difference with Habitat for Humanity. Whatever your skill set, stage of life, or passion, there is a place for you here.

We build because everyone deserves a decent place to live. When you support our families you stand alongside them as they learn to stand on their own.

We accept homeowner applications during windows. We are currently not accepting applications. Eligibility is based on current housing conditions, income and willingness to provide “sweat equity.”

Lei Melick and her two little ones, Aiden and Ellianna are a family whose story is one of resilience, hope, and new beginnings.
Aiden is two years old and full of curiosity. He loves Pixar movies, playing outside, and going for long walks. His little sister, Ellianna, is one year old and already a “ball of sunshine,” dancing, singing, and happily following her big brother wherever he goes.
Together, they fill every room with energy and laughter. But for a long time, the room they filled wasn’t truly their own.
Before partnering with Habitat, Lei and her children were living in an older trailer that needed constant repairs and was infested with roaches.
No matter how hard she cleaned or tried to fix things, it never felt safe or healthy. Eventually, Lei made the difficult but necessary decision to move in with her parents. For more than a year, the three of them have shared a single room. She’s grateful for the family support but felt crowded and without space for the kids to fully play, grow, and simply be children.
Lei first learned about Habitat on a middle school mission trip, helping build homes for other families. She never imagined that years later, she would apply for the same opportunity - this time for her own children.
Through Habitat’s partnership and financial coaching, Lei has done more than prepare for a house, she has prepared for a future. As she learned to manage her income working at a car dealership, she gained the budgeting skills and confidence needed to succeed as a homeowner. Instead of feeling stuck, Lei now feels equipped.
This family’s future is no longer defined by cramped spaces or temporary solutions. It is defined by possibility and a place to truly call home.

While each of our partner families has their own unique story and journey to home ownership, they all have one thing in common - they are thrilled to have a home of their own! Click read more to view the stories of our newest homeowners.
