to volunteer on a Habitat build.
There are many opportunities to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, from swinging a hammer to cashiering at ReStore to helping a family build their first budget. We can use your help today!
All volunteers must be 16 or older for all construction and ReStore projects. Volunteers will be coached, supervised and taught proper safety. All tools are provided. Special activities can be planned for youth groups under 16. Please contact 419-429-1400 to coordinate.
Build a New Home
Volunteers are needed in the months of April-June and August-October for the four new home constructions annually. Volunteer shifts are 4 hours and include every step of the building process from laying the foundation work to finishing the painting. No previous experience needed. We have on-site crew leaders and professional builders there to assist volunteers along the way.
Rehabilitate a Home
Habitat periodically purchases a foreclosed property and works on it year round to rehabilitate it into affordable housing. Volunteer needs and shifts are similar to a new home build.
Make Critical Home Repairs
Our critical home repairs help make homes safer, warmer and drier. We do handicap accessibility modifications, electrical, plumbing, heating and roof repairs, among other services. Volunteers are needed year round to help do multiple projects each month. A typical repair project takes 3 days. Volunteer shifts are 4 hours on one day.
Assist at ReStore
ReStore volunteers help with customer service, moving and staging furniture, and cashiering Tuesday through Saturday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Volunteer shifts are 3 hours. Volunteers are also needed every Tuesday from 6-8 pm for to assist the ReStore team 'after hours.'
Improve Financial Literacy
Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) coaches help equip clients with the tools, motivation, and know-how to make sound financial decisions. Volunteers work alongside professional coaches as a resource to help clients build a financial foundation for their future.
