This annual recognition program is specifically designed to thank people and organizations within Findlay/Hancock County who have given a hand up by serving others to fulfill the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
It is important to recognize the contributions of volunteers. It is through this recognition that individuals and organizations gain the motivation to stay passionately involved with Habitat for Humanity and continue to positively impact our capabilities to provide safe and affordable housing for families in our community.
People and organizations volunteer because they want to help others and make a difference. Habitat for Humanity of Findlay/Hancock County (HFH) has a responsibility to embrace everyone’s time and talents that are shared with us through board leadership, committees, administrative support, building programs and Restore operations.
HFH volunteer leaders are at the heart of our organization. We recognize our most exceptional volunteer leaders through the Paul Geyer Leadership Volunteer of the Year Award, given to one HFH volunteer each year.
Nominees for this award should exhibit the following characteristics:
✓ Provide sustained, outstanding volunteer leadership at ei
HFH volunteer leaders are at the heart of our organization. We recognize our most exceptional volunteer leaders through the Paul Geyer Leadership Volunteer of the Year Award, given to one HFH volunteer each year.
Nominees for this award should exhibit the following characteristics:
✓ Provide sustained, outstanding volunteer leadership at either the local, national, or international level, which includes superior performance in meeting increasingly challenging responsibilities
✓ Demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities, whether in a formal volunteer leadership role or through more informal teaching and mentoring activities
✓ Provide volunteer leadership that significantly contributes to the fulfillment of the Habitat mission
✓ Exhibit strong commitment to HFH, its mission and the Fundamental Principles
✓ Serve as a HFH volunteer for a minimum of one year
HFH youth volunteers are not only the leaders of tomorrow – they are the leaders of today. We recognize one outstanding young leader 15-25 years old each year through the Youth Leadership Volunteer of the Year Award.
Nominees for this award should exhibit the following characteristics:
✓ Provide sustained, outstanding volunteer leadership i
HFH youth volunteers are not only the leaders of tomorrow – they are the leaders of today. We recognize one outstanding young leader 15-25 years old each year through the Youth Leadership Volunteer of the Year Award.
Nominees for this award should exhibit the following characteristics:
✓ Provide sustained, outstanding volunteer leadership in the local community which should include advocating, educating, fundraising and building dreams in the name of Habitat’s mission.
✓ Exhibit strong commitment to HFH, its mission and the Fundamental Principles
✓ Serve as a HFH volunteer for a minimum of one year
✓ Demonstrate outstanding leadership in their school, community or club
HFH has multiple programs that overlap one another. Volunteers who serve in multiple programs help the sustainability and growth of our affiliate. We recognize one multi-talented and generous volunteer a year to receive this Golden Hammer Award each year.
Nominees for this award should exhibit the following characteristics:

✓ Serve as a HFH volunteer for a minimum of one year

Through a photo contest, we recogniz

Through a photo contest, we recognize one exceptional photo a year as Best Photo of the Year.
Individuals submit their photo’s to Facebook or to the volunteer coordinator at volunteer@habitatfindlay.org:
✓ Votes are tallied by the amount of likes each photo’s receive on Facebook
✓ The photo with the most likes will be crowned the “Best Photo of the Year”
